چکیده
Seawater desalination is vital to our modern civilization. Here, we report that the carbon honeycomb (CHC) has an outstanding water permeability and salt rejection in seawater desalination, as revealed by molecular dynamics simulations. More than 92% of ions are rejected CHC at applied pressures ranging from 50 250 MPa. a perfect below 150 Mpa. On increasing pressure up MPa, reduces only 92%. Pressure, temperature gradient noted play significant role modulating flux. The flux increases with temperature. With introduction 3.5 K nm−1, 33% compared room greater other materials osmosis membranes including graphene (8.7 times) graphyne (2.1 times). It indicates potential for commercial application purification.

Dynamics of water and solute transport in polymeric reverse osmosis membranes via molecular dynamics simulations
The Ångström-scale transport characteristics of water and six different solutes, methanol, ethanol, 2propanol, urea, Na+, and Cl-, were studied for a polymeric reverse osmosis (RO) membrane, FT-30, using non-equilibrium molecular dynamics (NEMD) simulations. Results indicate that water transport increases with an increasing fraction of percolated free volume, or water-accessible open space, in ...

متن کاملSeawater Desalination by using Nanofiltration (NF) and Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) Membranes in Sequential Mode of Operation
In this study, the applicability of nanofiltration (NF) membranes as a pretreatment prior to reverse osmosis (RO) in seawater desalination was investigated. The membranes used wereNF270 and NF90 as the NF membranes, while the brackish water (BW) RO membrane BW30 was used as the RO membrane. In desalination tests, permeates of the NF membraneswere collected and used as the feed to th...
